Cleaning Fee

A cleaning fee is a separate, one-time charge added to a reservation to cover the cost of the turnover — cleaning, laundry, and restocking — between one guest and the next. Unlike the nightly rate, it does not scale with the length of stay.

Because it is fixed per booking, the cleaning fee weighs heavily on short stays and barely registers on long ones, which is why it interacts with minimum-night-stay and pricing decisions. Guests increasingly scrutinize it, so keeping it proportional to the actual cost of a turnover protects both conversion and reviews.
