Occupancy Rate

Occupancy rate is the percentage of available nights that are booked over a given period. If a property is available 30 nights in a month and booked for 21, its occupancy rate is 70%.

It's one of the three numbers operators watch most closely, alongside average daily rate and the revenue-per-night figure that combines them. High occupancy at a healthy rate is the goal; chasing occupancy by underpricing can quietly erode revenue.
